Sunrise, May 12

The sun rose at 5:33 a.m., and it was 30 degrees with a brisk wind.  It was mostly cloudy with a strip of clearing at the horizon.

The sun had just enough space to shine through

Barry elected to get up early with me

Thick clouds low, while above they started to break up

Eventually the sun rises enough to light up the clouds

Barry took me shopping for new hiking shoes for Mother's Day

Green! grass

Looks like somebody was collecting driftwood

Someone was also drawing in the sand--this looks like a rabbit with long floppy ears

And this one is some random swirls

This tree needs a few big waves to be propelled onto the beach

Side of a rock hill

A makeshift bench

New firepit/Old firepit

The morning brightens

The streaming that drains into Lake Superior has veered away from the rock wall

We then went to Palisade Head, which has a great view and a tall tower

You can see for miles

Love the clouds!

As we headed back into town, a group of deer was crossing the road

Next post:  photos of the birds we encountered
