Spring 2013

We finally had a taste of spring last weekend.  Barry's parents drove up here, enjoying the sights along the way.  While it seems like spring has been slow to come, it's not unusual.
In this post from 2008, I said, "Now May is only a couple of days away and the forecast looks more like late February than late April."
In 2009: "Friday we had a little teaser as it finally reached 70 degrees, but yesterday it snowed again."
And even last year, when spring came relatively early: "Spring is slow to come in the north."
In the morning, Barry took the three older kids to the Beaver River to see the waterfall emptying into Lake Superior.

Favorite pastime: throwing rocks into the lake

An interesting piece of driftwood

After lunch at Cove Point Crossing, we went to the lake where the kids stuck their feet in the water and buried themselves in sand, and the adults took photos.
