Sunrise Snow Date, November 25

What a difference a week makes!  We got a few inches of snow on Saturday, and had a "snow date" on Sunday morning with Barry.  We both took our cameras and walked along the beach.  The sun rose at 7:23 a.m., but it was mostly cloudy so the color was subtle.

Looks soft and fluffy, but the rocks underneath sure aren't!

Ice is starting to built up

This is about as much color as we saw all morning

I like the pop of color of the lichen on the rocks

Close up of a tiny pine cone (it was about the size of an acorn)

Focused differently, a tangle of twigs

 My snow date

We stopped by the marina to see the sun rays shining through

I can't resist the straight lines of the docks

Sunrise, November 18

I don't know if I want to get up at 5 a.m. in the summer to photograph the sunrise, but this time of year the sun rises after 7 a.m.  On November 18, sunrise was at 7:14 a.m. so I left the house a little before 7 to watch.

At first there was just a strip of color at the horizon

Rock beach

The lake wasn't as wavy as the week before

Gradually the color in the sky expanded

Finally the sun started to appear . . .

 . . . brightening the sky around

Reflecting across the water

Leaving a glow in the sky

When I turned around, this deer was on the road

Last view before I left the shore

Almost the Gales of November

I already posted a bunch of these wave photos on Facebook, but I have a few more to share:
