A Day in Duluth

We don't get to Duluth all that often, so when we do go, we often have a long list of things to accomplish.  Barry was out of town, so I packed up the kids on a Saturday earlier this month.  In May, we visited the Aquarium with Abby, Jason and Lucy.  It was less than $10 more to get a membership for a year, so our first stop was to visit the Great Lakes Aquarium.

Raina liked taking pictures of the different fish.

The divers were getting ready for a show

We watched a ship pass by

Anemone and clownfish, "Nemo" as the kids called it

Sea urchin

Interesting how the seahorse has his tail wrapped around the plant

Lionfish

Jellyfish

Remy and Raina as otters

And Ollie the Otter

Our second stop was the Harvest Fest in Bayfront Park, right next to the aquarium.  Ollie wasn't happy because we passed the playground on the way to Harvest Fest, and he wanted to stop and play.  Harvest Fest had a farmer's market and other vendors and displays, like kettle corn, sweet corn, apple cider mini donuts, goats, chickens and bees.

Finally, the playground!  Ollie was quick to climb the play structure.

Next stop:  Lunch at the Old Country Buffet.

Then haircuts for two boys.

A stop for mom to browse the yarn selection at Michaels. (Note to self:  Browsing is more enjoyable without all the kids!)

And no trip to Duluth is complete without a stop at Target.  Jackson needed a graphing calculator for school and a black button-up shirt for band concerts.
