Sugarloaf Cove

Last year we hiked at Sugarloaf Cove at the beginning of October.  We went back last weekend to see it all again.

I don't think I ever noticed before that not only do the trees change color in the fall, smaller plants do as well

This collection of mushrooms grew around the base of a tree

Sun shines on maple leaves

Rocky shoreline

Jackson looks like he's heading for the water

Late morning dew still on the leaf

We took a picture by this old storage "building" last year

This time I got in the picture, too

Just the two of us

Pose off?

Ollie knocked on the door. No one answered.

We could hear these waves before we saw them

They were roaring and crashing and spraying us with mist

A couple was sitting on the rocks watching the waves

Waves crash against each other as one wave advances toward the shore and the other retreats

I love how you can see the rocks underneath the water

You never know what you're going to find on a hike--in this case, a bone

Black-eyed susan

These dying flowers have taken on a vintage look
