Sunrise, October 20

The weather has changed drastically with flurries in the air and freezing temperatures.  It was 28 degrees out and I had to scrape my windshield before I left.  The sun rose at 7:30 a.m.  I drove down to Iona's Beach again, and the color in the sky was a fiery red-orange.

Snapshots from Texas

Barry and I recently went to Texas for the Austin City Limits Music Festival.  Here are some of the highlights.

Grand Marais and Beyond

When we were finished hiking at Sugarloaf Cove, we drove north to Grand Marais.

The weather was perfect--sunny with a few clouds and mild temperatures

Sugarloaf Cove

Last year we hiked at Sugarloaf Cove at the beginning of October.  We went back last weekend to see it all again.

I don't think I ever noticed before that not only do the trees change color in the fall, smaller plants do as well

Sunrise, September 29

I have to say, it's a lot easier getting up at 6:15 to watch the sunrise than it was to get up at 4:30 this summer.  The sun rose this week at 7:01 a.m. and it was around 40 degrees outside.  The sky was mostly clear with just a few wispy clouds in the sky.  I went to Beaver Bay where the Beaver River flows into Lake Superior.

It soon becomes apparent where the sun is going to come up

Duck? Loon?

Slowly the sun begins to reflect off the lake
