First Haircut

Remy's curls were getting a little bit out of control, so he had his first haircut over the weekend. He was quite sober through the whole thing, but did very well. When we ask him where his hair is, he says, "All gone!"

Tired Out

Poor Remy, sometimes he's so tired he just falls asleep wherever he happens to stop moving.

In the Mail

I haven't been emailing for coupons this week, but I still got some freebies in the mail this week:
2 Parenting magazines
1 American Baby magazine
A sample of Cream of Wheat with a $1 coupon
A Feel Better 2009 calendar from Tylenol with a dozen $1 coupons on different Tylenol products
Huggies coupons
2 - $1 off Van de Kamps fish product
I sign up for samples online quite often, but they sometimes take awhile. By the time I get them I usually don't remember signing up for them, so it's always a pleasant surprise when they come in the mail.

Ice Storm

The sun is finally shining today after a very strange weather week so far. Jackson had a 2 hour late start on Monday when the ice storm started. He had no school on Tuesday as the area was iced over and outlying areas had no power. We only lost power for about 4 hours from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday into Wednesday. Jackson wasn't asleep yet, and it was very windy, so he came in the living room and watched Barry do shadow puppets.
Every single neighborhood has dozens of tree branches down, and the trees are looking rather bare. On Tuesday when everything was covered in ice, it was so loud outside, between tree branches cracking off and icy branches clattering together. It was all quite surreal.

Ice built up on the gate.

Icicles on the power lines.

Dripping and freezing on the siding.

Our neighborhood.

The branches that feel from the tree in front of our house.

Lilacs along the house.

What We've Been Up To

My mom and dad came for a visit on their way up to the Gunflint Trail to celebrate their 35th! anniversary. We had Pineapple Upside Down Cake for dessert:

I found this in the bathroom:

Ollie is still full of smiles:

Raina and Remy were covering each other up with a blanket:

Remy: 26 pounds (25%), 36 inches (75%), 1 shot
