Ice Storm

The sun is finally shining today after a very strange weather week so far. Jackson had a 2 hour late start on Monday when the ice storm started. He had no school on Tuesday as the area was iced over and outlying areas had no power. We only lost power for about 4 hours from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday into Wednesday. Jackson wasn't asleep yet, and it was very windy, so he came in the living room and watched Barry do shadow puppets.
Every single neighborhood has dozens of tree branches down, and the trees are looking rather bare. On Tuesday when everything was covered in ice, it was so loud outside, between tree branches cracking off and icy branches clattering together. It was all quite surreal.

Ice built up on the gate.

Icicles on the power lines.

Dripping and freezing on the siding.

Our neighborhood.

The branches that feel from the tree in front of our house.

Lilacs along the house.
