Happy Birthday, Abby!

It's my sister Abby's birthday today--hope you have/had a great day! Abby recently got back from China, where she went as part of her Master's Degree program. She got Raina a beautiful dress that Raina, of course, loves.

Jackson got a dragon hat and I got a black pearl necklace.
On a different note, ya gotta love the innocence of kids. When we were dropping Jackson off at basketball tonight, Raina said, "Jackson's my boyfriend. Bye boyfriend!"

Water Water Everywhere

Yes, it's been very cold here lately. Thankfully that hasn't led to any frozen/broken pipes. I do, however, have a baby that is becoming quite mischievous. Yesterday when I was making supper, he managed to take the cover off a gallon of water. When I turned around to see why he was being so quiet, he was happily sitting in a large puddle of water. Four soaking wet towels later, the mess was cleaned up.
Today Raina was on one of her "fridge raids" and Remy grabbed a pitched of water out of the fridge, making yet another large puddle on the kitchen floor. Four more soaking wet towels, and the floor was cleaned up again. At least my floor should be clean, right?

Routine

It's kind of nice to be back into the routine of things again. Jackson has a full week of school, none of the kids are sick and things are getting back to normal after the holidays. Laundry, dishes, cleaning, cooking, dropping off to and picking up from school . . . you get the picture.
Remy, who has been bald his whole short life, has the cutest little curl behind one ear.
Raina has been into drawing lately. It's cute to see a big head with arms and legs coming out of it.
Jackson has to do a demonstration speech for school in a couple of weeks, so this week they have to come up with a couple of ideas. His ideas included making pancakes, hot chocolate, cookies or popcorn in the microwave. They'll have to either demonstrate in front of the class or video tape and show it to the class.

Barbie Surgery

Raina got her first Barbie for Christmas. Within a few days she pulled her head off, so today I sat down to surgically reattach Barbie's head. It took about 15 minutes to dig around inside her head with a crochet hook to find the piece I had to pull through the neck hole so it would stay attached. Raina's happy that her Barbie is like new again.
